Corn can be used to make:

- grits with milk on a kitchen table
- malt with water in a wooden bucket or iron bucket
- popcorn in a coal oven, gas oven, oven, or primitive oven
- pozole with pork and large bones on an hibachi
- sugar with water in a iron bucket or wooden bucket
- wort from malt in a press

- cornbread from cornmeal with milk and eggs in a regular oven, coal oven or gas oven
