Salmon are fish that spend the first part of their life-cycle in fresh water rivers and lakes. They migrate to the salty ocean where they spend several years feeding and growing before they return to spawn in the same rivers and lakes where they hatched. They are found in certain coastal locations, where they can be gathered manually, or faster with a fishing pole, primitive fishing line or fishing spear. They can also be fished from certain boats on lakes and seas which are outfit with a net.
