While there are many kinds of Resting Furniture, for the purposes of this wiki, beds consist of a mattress filled with some kind of fiber or feathers, and a wooden or wood-like frame. Other pieces that could be arguably considered "beds" in the Real World™ such as a cot or the futon are not considered beds here—for accounting purposes. And, no, we're not putting pet beds in this category either.

While many beds here include some kind of frame, the uninstalled mattresses can be turned into resting furniture without one. For example, you can use an uninstalled cotton mattress (cotton), which is a kind of semi-finished product, and "install" it as an actual, usable piece of furniture simply called a cotton mattress. You can do this with the hemp and silk versions too. This also incorporates the primitive mattress to align with the two-step process.
