Terrain types
Outside locations in Cantr belong to one of the many terrain types, and this can affect what sort of resources can be found there, although sometimes resources could be found or missing in unlikely environments. Originally terrain types were also supposed to affect how many buildings can be built in that location, but due to some sort of a bug, the limits were never taken into account and by the time it was discovered, so many locations had crossed the limit that enforcing them would've been unreasonable.

Land
Grassland
Grasslands are colored bright green on the map, and have a picture of grass on the location page. Common resources include grass, stone, vegetables (such as potatoes), grains (such as wheat), hemp, cotton and sand.
Mountains
Mountains are colored gray on the map, although on some regions they can also appear white. That most likely symbolizes snow capped mountains but since Cantrians are immune to cold, it's just something that could be acknowledged in rp. Almost all mountains have stone, and various metals, ores and gems can also be found. There's generally no food available unless you count meat gained from hunting.
Hills
Hills are rather similar to grasslands in terms of resources but surprisingly much less likely to have stone, and more likely to have some metals.
Desert
Deserts are very barren regions and rarely have anything more than sand, although salt, soda and oil are sometimes found. Also they are usually far away from their neighboring locations, so unprepared travelers may risk starving to death while crossing them.
Swamp
Swamps are often completely empty of resources and the possibility of adding new resources had been discussed, but there's no telling when this might happen if at all. In the past at least some of them used to have water as a natural resource, but when wells and water pumps were introduced, all natural water sources got nuked. Like deserts, swamps are also often located far away from other places and there is no food to be found. They often have swamp snakes, though, if you don't mind grilling snake meat.
Forest
Almost all forests have wood, and many also have resin or timber. Other common resources include coal, bananas, various berries and mushrooms. There's usually no food to harvest so people have to rely on hunting but at least fuel for cooking is readily available. The outdoors version of a hammock can only be built in a forest since it's presumably attached into trees.
Plains
Plains are rather barren places that tend to have mud, grass and gas but usually no other resources.
