A tram stop will mark a place for a tram to stop at. It works similarly to a railway barricade, but does not need to be destroyed to travel onward. Passenger and freight trains will not stop at tram stops.
Note that while a tram stop can be built before a railway station is built, once the station is built, a tram stop cannot be built afterwards.
