The wooden coffin is a special kind of storage used to bury dead bodies. It cannot hold any other objects.
Unlike the funeral pyre, the wooden coffin can be built indoors and then moved outside for usage with burial. Once the body is applied to the coffin, you can then bury them using the burial button as you would normally see for burying.
