A limestone sarcophagus is a container designed to hold a dead body. You may store anything in them as with most containers, and you can also retrieve things from them. The exception here being that a dead body can't be retrieved to your inventory.
A dead body in a sarcophagus will not decay. Book of the Dead™ not included.
