The haystack is created from bales of unprocessed grains or grass. It is then used to dry additional grains or grass into hay, used in animal domestication. You may also rest in it. It takes one day to assemble or disassemble, so that horse riders can build one in the wilderness.

Making hay can be an automatic task, which will take twice as long to produce the same amount as it would if making hay manually. The manual process can be hastened further by using a wooden dung-fork, dung-fork or bronze dung-fork, which speeds up the rate by 50%.
