Different areas have different weather and may also have a different season. Places next to each other are more likely to have similar weather. Most areas have 4 seasons, while some only have 2 or 1.

Weather statuses

Possible current weather statuses:

  • Blizzard
  • Clear
  • Cloudy
  • Downpour
  • Drizzle
  • Foggy
  • Hail
  • Light snow
  • Rain
  • Snowfall
  • Storm
  • Sunny
  • Unexpected downpour
  • Very sunny

Some of the weather statuses create an event message when they start, such as rain, snow or fog. Neutral ones (sun, clear, cloudy) do not trigger an event message.

Wind

The weather system also includes wind, that can come from any direction.

Status messages:

  • Windless
  • Very weak wind
  • Light wind
  • Moderate wind
  • Fast wind
  • Very fast wind
  • Gale

Currently weather doesn't affect anything, but in the future it's likely to affect things like sailing speed, growth of organic resources, damage to characters not clothed for a particular weather in their location, and other things.

Climates

Temperate climate

Temperate climate is the standard and has all four seasons. During spring there can be storms, downpour, rain, drizzle, fog, cloudy, clear or very sunny.

During summer, there can be hail, storm, downpour, rain, drizzle, cloudy, clear, sunny or very sunny.

During autumn (fall), there can be downpour, rain, drizzle, fog, cloudy, clear, sunny or very sunny.

And during winter there can be blizzard, snow, light snow, cloudy, clear or sunny. There are clothes designed to keep your characters warm during winter, although currently they only have a roleplayed purpose. The list might not be complete.

Tropical climate

Tropical climate exists mostly in jungles and has only one season. They're likely to have tropical rain. Other possible weather messages are clear, sunny and very sunny.

Dry climate

Dry climate exists on deserts and has only one season. The weather is normally sunny or very sunny, but can also be clear and on rare occasion there can be rain.

Swamps and tundras

Swamps and tundras have two seasons, but the warm season is only 1/4 the length of the cycle. During the warm season, there can be rain or drizzle 1/3 of the time, sunny or very sunny another 1/3 of the time and the rest of the time it can be foggy, cloudy or clear.

During the cold season, there's more than 50 % chance of having medium or light snow or even a blizzard, while sunny or very sunny happens rarely. It can also be cloudy, foggy or clear.

Mountains

As with swamps and tundras, the warm season lasts only 1/4 of the cycle. There may be light snow even during the warm season, and occasionally it may rain or drizzle. Fog and cloudy weather are common, and sometimes it's clear, sunny or very sunny.

During the cold season, blizzards and medium snow are common, while sun is rather rare. There can also be light snow, foggy, cloudy or clear.
