Masts and sails are sorted below by efficiency.

Each mast and sail added to a water vehicle's rigging increases that vessel's speed with (base*increasesailing).

Masts & Sails

The following table does not include resource amounts for rigging. All rigging construction numbers are based on disassembled rigging where applicable. See the relevant fixed article for installation times (typically 0.5 days).

* The primitive sail class contains both the mast and sail as one unit. A small sail class is based on the small mast, plus sail. Half rigging involves just a mainmast with sails whereas full rigging builds on the half rigging with a foremast and sails.
** A second staysail is added to the table for convenience purposes. If the user wishes to add up the resources for rigging of a class (e.g. half rigging for a sloop or full rigging for a galleon) sort on "class" and add up the columns. For full rigging, 2 staysails are possible. Adding a second staysail to the table helps reduce math error.

For galleons, rakers or skimmers, the total amount of masts and sails that can be added to the ship total up to weighting 18375 grams.

  • 1 small log
  • 6 medium logs
  • 3 large logs
  • 10000 sailcloth
