Smelting furnace
A smelting furnace, sometimes referred to as a smelter, is a machine used for creating metals from their derivitaves. A primative smelting furnace can also be used to create iron and bronze, but a smelting furnace is required in order to create aluminum or steel. While smelting furnace takes more resources and time to build than it's primative counterpart, and cannot be built outside, it processes the resources more efficiently; you need less ingredients to create any ammount of a metal using it.
Requirements
- 3000g stone
- 200g iron
5 days
objects required: trowel
A smelting furnace can only be built inside a building.
Projects
Manufacturing Steel (coal)
One day's labour produces 700 grams of steel.
Raw Materials
Tools Required pair of bellows
Refining Iron (coal)
In one day you can produce 50 grams of iron. You will need 100 grams of iron ore, 60 grams of coal or 100 grams of charcoal & 200 grams of limestone.
In one day you can produce 100 grams of aluminium. You will need 200 grams of alumina & 100 grams of coal or 190 grams of charcoal.
In one day you can produce 125 grams of aluminium. You will need 200 grams of alumina & 35 grams of propane.
(steel glass In one day you can produce 770 grams of steel. You will need the following raw materials: 420 grams of iron 140 grams of propane 1400 grams of limestone
