The Eat button next to a resource allows you to eat a healing food. When you click it, if you are damaged and the resource is a healing food, you will be prompted with the amount you need to remove all damage, and asked how much of the healing food you wish to eat.
"You cannot eat to gain strength" is a common error message after clicking this icon. It means that the resource you selected is a not a healing food.
"You do not need any more strength" is the other common error message. It means that you are not damaged.
