-Vehicles will usually decrease the time taken to travel between places, assuming the [[road|roads]] allow for the vehicle to do so properly. Vehicles can also enable characters to transport more than they would be able to on their own.  New vehicles automatically come with a lock, which is locked (thus preventing people stealing your new vehicle!)
