Description and uses
The recurve bow is essentially an upgrade of the longbow, differing only in that this weapon uses slightly more wood and more time, and in return is slightly more powerful and rots somewhat more slowly.
Real-life context
A recurve bow is one where the bow doubles back on itself, and thus the bowstring touches the bow. This results in more springiness and a faster/stronger arrow flight.
So while in-game this bow is closer to the longbow, in real life it is more similar to the composite recurve bow.
