You will get bones whenever you kill an animal. There are two sorts of bones, large and small ones. Which sort and how many of it you will get, depends on the kind of animal you killed. Bones are used for a large number of simple things like simple tools (e.g. bone knives), weapons (such as bone clubs) or rings.
