Used to build a fixed [[shaving horse]], along with an {{axe}}, [[stone axe]] or [[celt]] and a [[hammer]].

The shaving horse is a sort of work station used traditionally by coopers and chair bodgers. The identifying feature is the foot operated clamp. It allows for easy and intimate use of drawing tools, like spokeshaves, drawknives and scorpers.

One way of making the [[medium log|medium]] and [[large log|large]] logs. The other is the [[lathe]].
