[[S'mores]] were named by groups of young campers who want "some more" of that delicious yet complicated wilderness treat consisting of semi-burnt [[marshmallows]] and bars of [[chocolate]] sandwiched between two [[cookies]]. Because everything gets so melty, one has to cook, assemble, and eat these s'mores rapidly, which is a likely reason for the word's contraction.

A [[small fire pit|fire pit]] or [[fireplace]] is essential in the process. Anyone attempting to replicate a real s'more using a [[campstove]] is just fooling themselves.
